Section of Bioinformatics Systems of Databases
The laboratory has high-class database servers that provide storage, search, and processing of biomedical data in a short time. At the same time, these servers have huge disk space. The configuration of the servers and clusters of databases available in the laboratory additionally ensures high availability of databases in the case of a failure, and automatic redirection of users to a backup server.
The main missions of the Laboratory of Bioinformatic Database Systems are:
- Providing space for the storage of biomedical data for specialists in the fields of biology, medicine, biochemistry, biotechnology, and bioinformatics.
- Providing a secure environment for database servers and biomedical data warehouses.
- Enabling efficient processing of biomedical data on the Laboratory's servers.
- Enabling advanced data analysis for personalized medicine.
- Providing research opportunities to discover knowledge hidden in the wealth of available biological information.
Currently, the Chernobyl Tissue Bank biomedical data warehouse, commissioned by Imperial College, London, is stored on the servers of the Laboratory of Bioinformatic Database Systems.
The Laboratory of Bioinformatic Database Systems provides:
- Clusters of databases and data warehouses operating under the control of various database management systems (DBMS).
- Standalone servers for smaller applications.
