Laboratory of Chromatographic Analyzes
The laboratory is equipped with an Ultra High Performance Liquid Chromatography (UHPLC) coupled with a mass spectrometer. This apparatus allows to carry out chromatographic analysis in a much shorter time and with much lower consumption of mobile phases compared to HPLC.
Due to the coupling of the chromatograph with a mass spectrometer, it is possible to determine the mass of the separated chemical compounds. The HPLC-MS / MS combination is an ideal tool for the separation and identification of a wide variety of compounds found in ?a rich matrix. Additionally, the mass spectrometer is used to obtain mass spectra of compounds synthesized at the Faculty of Chemistry. The laboratory also has a device that enables solid-phase extraction (SPE) which is used in the preparation of samples for chromatographic analysis. SPE allows the separation of the analyte from the matrix and its concentration and is also used to remove impurities present in the sample.
