Technical aspects of energy management in buildings. Volume I
Technical aspects of energy management in buildings. Volume II
Marian B. Nantka
The handbook presents selected issues that make up the complex nature of technical and economic relations regarding buildings, treated as a construction and energy system, which consists of the structure of the building and a set of devices and installations producing, transmitting and distributing energy carriers. Attention was also paid to external sources and networks connected to buildings and their technical equipment. Knowledge of their structure and interaction with objects is necessary to assess the quality of their cooperation with devices and internal equipment installations. Placing this information in one place facilitates full understanding and mastering of installation, energy and economic issues in any complex systems.

The book deals with heating installations, especially central heating installations. The content is divided into several interrelated thematic parts. Emphasis was placed on presenting internal solutions for water heating installations and water heating networks, treating steam heating and air installations as information. The study consists of two volumes.
The first volume is devoted to the classification and comparison of heating systems, and the discussion of the properties of fuels and thermal energy carriers. Heat sources, from boilers to heating systems, are also presented.
The second volume presents selected elements of internal installations, starting from radiators, through types of ducts, methods of their insulation and routing, fastening and connection, and the use of shut-off, safety and regulating fittings, and ending with solutions for basic heating systems, dimensioning and regulation, and problems related to their operation. Finally, issues related to improving the existing building and heating installations were discussed.
