Project of students of the Faculty of Energy and Environmental Engineering on the list of winners of the Metropolitan Climathon 2022
Julia Mzyk and Marzena Pawlus, Biotechnology students, were among the winners of the Metropolitan Climathon, which took place on October 27-28 at the Silesian University of Technology.
The team they created together with a student of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice took second place. The ladies presented the "Handyman" project, which allows the reuse of home-use materials and tools and at the same time integrates people from the neighborhood locally.

Metropolitan Climathon is a 24-hour race of ideas on how to reconcile the needs of people with the available environmental resources and how to rationally use resources while reducing the negative impact of waste on the environment for the sake of the climate. "Circular economy. Recycling in the city. Zero waste metropolis ”is the theme of this year's Climathon, an event organized by the Metropolis GZM in cooperation with the Fortis Pro Nobis Foundation.
This year, the event was held with the participation of the Center for Climate and Environmental Protection of the Silesian University of Technology.
