Tests of evacuation of the disabled from the building

Many public buildings do not have adequate solutions that would provide people with disabilities with convenient evacuation conditions. One of the solutions to this problem is to equip the building with evacuation chairs, thanks to which it is possible to evacuate people with limited or complete lack of the ability to move independently.

Students of the Student Scientific Society "Biuro niepoHamowanej Potrzeby Informowania o Bezpieczeństwie", operating at the Department of OWiTO, check the effectiveness of evacuation of a disabled person with the use of an evacuation chair in Building A of our Faculty. The research is carried out as part of the PBL project. Thanks to the cooperation with EnSafe, students have the opportunity to test the latest model of the chair called FALCON.

These studies can contribute to the improvement of the evacuation process and the implementation of new solutions that meet the requirements for providing accessibility to people with special needs.
