ASHRAE Award for Dr. Jan Kaczmarczyk
Dr Jan Kaczmarczyk, PhD, received the prestigious Ralph G. Nevin award from ASHRAE in the field of human physiology and the environment. It is awarded annually to one outstanding young scientist in this field - was presented at a plenary session in Montreal. Congratulations.
Dr. Kaczmarczyk, a graduate of the Faculty of Environmental and Power Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology and currently an employee of the Department of Heating, Ventilation and Dust Removal Technology at this Faculty, received an award for his contribution to the development of ventilation and air conditioning. In particular, his research in the field of thermal comfort and indoor air quality, including both research involving humans and measurements of the internal environment, was appreciated.
The main, repeatedly cited achievement of Dr. Kaczmarczyk demonstrates that "by using personal ventilation (blowing clean air directly into the breathing zone), the perceived air quality and thermal comfort are significantly improved, and the intensity of the symptoms of the" sick building "syndrome is reduced, which leads to an increase in work efficiency."
