Postdoctoral internship of Aleksandra Lipczyńska
Dr. Lipczyńska joined the interdisciplinary group of scientists from the University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley), Nanyang Technical University (NTU) and the National University of Singapore (NUS) working in the SinBerBEST program. SinBerBEST (Singapore-Berkeley Building Efficiency and Sustainability in the Tropics) is one of two BEARS-led research programs funded by the Singapore National Research Foundation. The mission of the program is to conduct widely applied research to develop innovative, advanced technology solutions for the design, modeling and operation of sustainable buildings located in the tropics.
Dr. Lipczyńska participates in the works of Task 4: Human-Building Interactions and the Environment, which are aimed at ensuring a high-quality internal environment in sustainable buildings. These works were divided into five projects: Hygiene of mechanical ventilation and air conditioning systems, Human factors influencing thermal comfort in tropical climate, Bioaerosols in buildings located in the tropics, Influence of air temperature and humidity on the dynamics of pollution, and Influence of ventilation on the quality of the internal environment.
The BEARS and SinBerBEST headquarter is located in the newly established CREATE center (The Campus for Research Excellence And Technological Enterprise) on the campus of the National University of Singapore.
