Teaching assistant at the Department of Heating, Ventilation and Dust Removal Technology at the Silesian University of Technology, deals with the issues of the indoor environment, ventilation, and in recent years with the problems of occupational safety and ergonomics. Since 2018, she has been the Dean’s Representative for the Disabled.
Dr. Monika Blaszczok obtained a doctoral degree and a master’s degree in environmental engineering at the Silesian University of Technology in 2006 and 1999. Additionally, she completed postgraduate studies in the field of Energy Auditing, Occupational Health and Safety, and Pedagogical Preparation. She actively participated in the creation of the Safety Engineering major, with which she is strongly associated as a lecturer of many subjects and a research supervisor of the Student Research Group “Office of the Unrestrained Need for Information on Safety”. In 2018, she published the textbook “Ergonomics of Safe and Hygienic Work”.
She participated in many research projects carried out at the Department, including: in the research project entitled “Forecasting and optimization of the microclimate in museum rooms under conditions of variable external and internal loads and the strategic research project entitled “Integrated system for reducing the operational energy consumption of buildings”. In recent years, he has been deepening his knowledge and expanding his competences in the field of occupational health and safety and pedagogy by participating in training courses, including:
- Training enabling conducting educational classes in the field of first aid, September 2014
- Training on “Preparing and conducting didactic classes using distance learning methods and techniques”, December 2017
- Course “Innovative Didactics of an Academic Teacher at the Silesian University of Technology”, April – June 2018
- Training and obtaining the title: “Internal Auditor of the Integrated Management System compliant with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, PN-N-18001:2004, ISO 45001:20148”, July 2019
- Pedagogical course – obtaining pedagogical qualifications to conduct training in the field of occupational health and safety, September 2019
- A series of training courses improving IT and didactic competences, October 2019 – February 2020
- “Communication” training – June 2020
Wanting to deepen her practical knowledge of occupational health and safety, she completed industrial internships at the Occupational Health and Safety Inspectorate of the Silesian University of Technology and the Occupational Health and Safety Service of FAMUR S.A.
