SNN 1.0 Program

SNN Program
SNN 1.0 is a newer, enhanced version of the "DOS" OPA/NN program with a similar scope. The SNN program runs under the Windows operating system. The input data for the design is the basic diagram of the network drawn on the monitor screen (with the use of predefined graphic symbols) and the nominal data of the devices entered (from previously prepared catalogs) simultaneously with the drawn diagram. Then the environmental conditions that influence the selection of devices are also given.
Characteristic features of the program facilitating data entry are:
- Leaving the user the freedom to create new and supplement the existing catalogs of electrical devices that make up the network and receivers.
- A graphic way of entering information about the network topology, consisting in the appropriate arrangement of graphic symbols on the screen and connecting the accepted device terminals with a cable symbol.
- Easy modification of the drawn diagram by adding, removing or changing the position of the symbol on the diagram.
- Work on several diagrams at the same time, with the possibility of moving (copying) parts of the diagram.
In the calculation part (interactive mode) the following occurs:
- Checking the correctness of the selection of power cables (criteria: long-term load, voltage drops during steady operation and start-up).
- Determination of short-circuit currents.
- Selection of mobile transformer stations and maneuvering switches, including: selection of protection settings, checking the short-circuit strength and the ability to connect the switches.
The results of calculations and selection are included in tables and can be presented on the monitor screen and printed. The SNN program is used in over twenty mines, it is also used in teaching.
