On May 13–15, 2026, we concluded (Kamil Barczak, Erwin Maciak) a six-month collaboration with Reinbar Ltd. (Marcin Knutelski) and our colleagues from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Technology of Silesian University of Technology.
Together with Interlab (Jakub Koryciński, Damian Lis), we carried out deformation measurements of 1-meter-long reinforced concrete beams equipped with 1 to 3 fiber-optic sensors, using an OFDR Luna reflectometer. The measurements were performed in the Laboratory of Reinforced Concrete Structures and Concrete Technology at the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering, West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin (Piotr Szewczyk and Piotr Brzozowski). The aim of the tests was to demonstrate the effectiveness of fiber-optic sensors embedded in FRP composite rods designed and manufactured by Reinbar Ltd.
