Our students visiting the pharmaceutical company Selvita S.A.
Our Chemical Technology students, as part of the course Organic Technology – Low-Volume Products offered by the Department of Organic Chemical Technology and Petrochemistry, had the opportunity to visit the pharmaceutical company Selvita S.A., where a solid dose of practical chemistry and modern technologies awaited them.
During the visit, they attended a presentation outlining the company’s profile, organizational structure, and key research areas. The biggest impression, however, was made by the lab tour, during which they could see the places where new solutions for the pharmaceutical industry are developed on a daily basis.
The students visited, among others:
- the organic synthesis department, where new compounds with potential biological activity are designed and produced,
- the purification department, responsible for the isolation and analysis of products using advanced separation methods.
The trip was an excellent opportunity to see how chemistry taught in classes and academic laboratories translates into real work in the R&D industry.
We would like to thank Dr. Eng. Maciej Pudelko and Dr. Barbara Wołek for the tour and for sharing their experience with our students!
Trip co-financing: Association of Friends of the Faculty of Chemistry.
