On Monday, September 2, 2024, the guest of the Faculty of Civil Engineering was Prof. Gayrat Azotovich Muratov, Rector of Ajou University in Tashkent (Uzbekistan) - a branch of Ajou University in South Korea.

The meeting was attended by Prof. Barbara Klemczak, D.Sc. (Dean); Artur Nowoświat, D.Sc. (Vice-Dean for Science and Cooperation); and Marcin Kozłowski, D.Sc., Prof. PŚ.

During the meeting, the teaching and research potential of the Faculty of Civil Engineering was presented. Particularly emphasized was the long-standing tradition of the Faculty of Civil Engineering in conducting studies in English (the direction of “Civil Engineering” at the first and second degrees). In the building of the Laboratory of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, our guest visited the main hall of the laboratory, as well as selected research and teaching laboratories (including the optical measuring system laboratory “Aramis” and the geotechnical research laboratory).

Prof. Gayrat Azotovich Muratov expressed great interest in establishing cooperation with the Faculty of Civil Engineering in educating students, especially in the second degree of the Civil Engineering course. The modern teaching methods used at the Silesian University of Technology, such as Project Based Learning, professional semester internship and mentoring program, were highly appreciated.
