Students from the High Flyers scientific association received an award in the Forum of Technical Universities KoKoN competition.

Students from the Silesian University of Technology, associated in the High Flyers scientific association, have won a competition organized by the KoKoN Forum of Technical Universities. High Flyers team proved to be the best in the category "Innovations and new technologies in ecology". Our students presented their original drone system that supports precision agriculture and environmental protection. The system identifies areas occupied by plant disease pathogens, diagnoses diseases of fruit trees, and then carries out precise spraying of plant protection products.

The nationwide KoKoN competition is addressed to students of technical universities active in scientific circles. The idea behind the competition is to develop scientific and social activity, integrate the student community, promote scientific activities and build dialogue between technical universities in Poland and external companies. This year, 21 projects from all over Poland competed for victory in KoKoN in five categories (Engineering Project, Scientific Research, Education, Digitalization, Innovation and New Technologies in Ecology, and FUT Favourite).

Students of the Interdepartmental Scientific Circle of Unmanned Flying Objects High Flyers have had a very successful season. Developed system has proven itself in battle by winning 2 x 1st place (in two competitions) in this year's Droniad competition. Our team won the first place in the general classification and received the Grand Prize and two Special Awards of Łukasiewicz Research Network.
