CALL FOR APPLICATIONS (18.05.2026)
The Department of Theory, Design and History of Architecture announces a continuous call for participants to take part in activities carried out under the project entitled “Partnership for the Protection and Modernisation of the Architectural Heritage of the Second Half of the 20th Century in the Context of Green Transition and Environmental Challenges”, implemented under the NAWA Strategic Partnerships programme.
Scope of the call
The call concerns participation in the following activities:
- Development of research and teaching competences through participation in specialist courses and training sessions
- Participation in scientific conferences
(Within these activities, it is possible to finance the costs of training and conference fees, as well as travel and accommodation costs)
- Scientific publications
(Within these activities, it is possible to finance publication fees in scientific journals)
Eligible participants
Applications may be submitted by:
- research and teaching staff / teaching staff of the Silesian University of Technology,
- doctoral students of the Doctoral School of the Silesian University of Technology,
- research and teaching staff / teaching staff of the Project Partner Universities,
- doctoral students of the Project Partner Universities.
Conditions for participation
Participation is conditional upon:
- meeting the formal requirements specified in the Project Regulations,
- submitting the required documents,
- ensuring that the planned activity is consistent with the objectives of the project.

INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR WITHIN THE PROGRAMME “NAWA STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS 2025–2027” AT THE UNIVERSITY OF CASSINO AND SOUTHERN LAZIO 11–13 MAY 2026 (14.05.26)
On 11–13 May, the first international seminar of project partners within the “NAWA STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS 2025–2027” programme was held at the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio. The grant project titled: “Partnership for the protection and modernisation of architectural heritage of the second half of the 20th century in the perspective of green transformation and environmental challenges.”
The seminar was attended by representatives of the project leader and project partners, namely the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio (UNICAS), the Technical University of Crete (TUC), the University of Beira Interior (UBI), and the Technical University of Valencia (UPV).
The main objective of the meeting was the exchange of knowledge and experience between partner institutions, as well as the creation of an international research partnership network and the integration of joint activities focused on research and the protection of architectural heritage from the second half of the 20th century. The cooperation will enable coordinated and long-term research activities addressing contemporary environmental and climate challenges.
The meeting resulted in the development of plans for further joint activities.

The Department of Theory, Design and History of Architecture announces a call for participants to take part in a task carried out by the project entitled: “Partnership for the protection and modernization of the architectural heritage of the second half of the 20th century in the perspective of green transformation and environmental challenges”, implemented under the NAWA Strategic Partnerships program.
Scope of the call
The call concerns participation in the task: exchange of doctoral students and academic staff for the protection and modernization of the architectural heritage of the second half of the 20th century in the perspective of green transformation and environmental challenges.
As part of the task, participation in a scientific seminar organized at the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio (Italy) is planned, on May 11–13, 2026.
Eligible applicants
The following may apply:
- research and teaching / teaching staff of Silesian University of Technology,
- doctoral students of the Doctoral School of Silesian University of Technology,
- research and teaching / teaching staff of the Project’s partner institutions,
- doctoral students of the Project’s partner institutions.
Participation requirements
The conditions for participation are:
- meeting the formal requirements specified in the project regulations,
- submission of the required documents,
- compliance of the planned activity with the project objectives.
