Best practices in PBL education – 2nd edition
On October 28, 2025, the Center for Modern Education hosted a training course entitled “Good Practices in PBL Education,” organized for supervisors of PBL projects implemented as part of the Initiative of Excellence – Research University (IDUB) Program.
The course was officially opened on behalf of Prof. Anna Chrobok, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Education, by Anna Waligóra, PhD, Director of the Center for Modern Education, who welcomed the participants, presented the program, and invited them to actively participate in the meeting.
During the course, participants had the opportunity to listen to presentations and lectures on the theoretical and practical aspects of teaching using the Project-Based Learning (PBL) method. Experts presented their experiences in organizing project work, evaluating learning outcomes, and managing student teams.
The speakers included:
- Dariusz Buchczik, PhD, Eng. – Modern education using the PBL method: key theoretical and practical issues
- Marzena Podgórska, PhD, Eng. – Project-based teaching methodology: principles, organization, communication, evaluation
- Grażyna Maszniew, EMBA – Key formal aspects of implementing PBL projects under the IDUB Program
- Prof. Mariola Saternus, PhD, Eng., Adam Pilśniak, PhD, Eng., Michał Marchacz, PhD, Eng., Kordian Dudzik, MSc, Eng. Agnieszka Siewniak, PhD, Eng., and Dawid Lisicki, PhD, Eng. – presented good practices in PBL education, discussing issues such as the successes and effects of PBL implementation, examples of actions and solutions, and ways of dealing with problems and difficulties during PBL implementation, using the example of projects they had carried out.
The meeting ended with a joint discussion during which participants exchanged experiences, discussed challenges in implementing PBL projects, and shared ideas for developing modern forms of academic teaching.
The course was both educational and inspiring—it provided a space to exchange experiences and deepen knowledge in the field of methods that engage students.
