Supporting students in improving their competences and skills

The Silesian University of Technology is implementing a project entitled "Computational intelligence methods in the field of image processing in federated learning systems", which received financial resources in the amount of PLN 85,605.94 as part of a non-competitive project entitled "Support for students in improving their competences and skills" implemented by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

Project Title: Computational intelligence methods in the field of image processing in federated learning systems

Support for students in improving their competences and skills

Tasks, activities that will be implemented as part of the Project:

The project assumes support for universities (entities directly using support) by enabling students to participate in international competitions, contests and conferences. The planned implementation period of the project is 01.02.2025 to 31.12.2025.

The project assumes the implementation of two tasks, which is participation in international scientific conferences:

1)         International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Soft Computing (ICAISC 2025), planned implementation date: 06.2025

2)         IEEE International Conference on Data Science and Advanced Analytics (DSAA 2025), planned implementation date: 07-10.2025

Target groups of the Project:

The target group in the Project are universities and students. The project is aimed at students or their teams whose development potential and previous experience give grounds to believe that they can win international competitions and contests of the highest rank.

Project Objective:

The aim of the project is to support students in developing their:

  • competences and skills,
  • scientific activity,
  • innovation,
  • creativity,

by enabling them to participate in international competitions, contests, conferences.

Project Results:

The result of the project will be the acquisition of competences or qualifications or skills by persons participating in higher education and an increase in the total number of students who will take part in various forms of international education within the higher education system competition 

Project Value (total amount of eligible expenses):

27,500,000.00 PLN

Amount of co-financing from European funds (amount of contribution from European Funds):

22,693,000.00 PLN
