Foreign trips
Foreign trips of non-employees of the Silesian University of Technology, PhD students and students (excerpt from Regulation No. 151/2022 of the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology of October 12, 2022)

- Persons who are not employees of the Silesian University of Technology may travel abroad in order to:
1) perform tasks resulting from projects in which they are contractors or participants,
2) implement the Erasmus + program in the field of teaching and training,
3) carrying out other tasks performed for the University.
- A person who is not an employee of the Silesian University of Technology is entitled to receivables related to a trip abroad, specified in the project of which he or she is a contractor or participant, or granted on the basis of a decision of the head of an organizational unit of the Silesian University of Technology for which the person performs the commissioned activities.
- Foreign visits of PhD students and students may take place in order to:
1) carrying out part of the studies abroad,
2) participation in training and courses,
3) implementation of a teaching or research internship,
4) participation in academic exchange,
5) participation in the programs of the National Agency for Academic Exchange,
6) participation in competitions and competitions,
7) participation in conferences,
8) representing the University,
9) carrying out scientific research as part of research activities,
10) carrying out scientific research as part of projects financed from external funds,
11) other, in justified cases.
- A student going abroad retains the status of a student, including the right to benefits referred to in Art. 86 sec. 1 points 1-4 and Art. 359 paragraph. 1 of the Act of July 20, 2018 - Law on Higher Education and Science, on the terms set out in the provisions on granting these benefits.
- A participant in doctoral studies going abroad retains the status of a participant in doctoral studies, including the right to benefits referred to in Art. 86 sec. 1 points 1-4 of the Act of July 20, 2018 - Law on Higher Education and Science, in connection with Art. 281 of the Act of July 3, 2018 - Regulations introducing the Act - Law on Higher Education and Science, and to the doctoral scholarship and increasing the doctoral scholarship from the pro-quality subsidy referred to in art. 200 and 200a of the Act of 27 July 2005 - Law on Higher Education, in connection with Art. 285-286 of the Act of July 3, 2018 - Regulations introducing the Act - Law on Higher Education and Science, on the terms set out in the provisions on the granting of these benefits.
- A PhD student studying at a doctoral school, going abroad, retains the status of a PhD student, including the right to receive a doctoral scholarship referred to in Art. 209 of the Act of July 20, 2018 - Law on Higher Education and Science, on the terms specified in the provisions on granting this scholarship.
- In justified cases and in the case of having financial resources, the administrator of funds may grant a person who is not an employee, PhD student or student to travel abroad, reimbursement of travel costs or diet / lump sums referred to in § 6 sec. 3.
A PhD student going abroad shall submit an application to the Doctoral School office (Annex 2 to the M.2022.Z.151.pdf (polsl.pl) ) along with documents confirming participation in a conference or internship abroad.
