International Scientific Conference
"Academic Education in Europe
after the Pandemic
- Landscape after Battle
or a New Hand of Cards?"
on-line, 14-15 April 2021
We would like to invite you to the Online International Scientific Conference entitled
Academic Education in Europe after the Pandemic
- Landscape after Battle or a New Hand of Cards?
The year 2020 will be permanently marked by the coronavirus pandemic, when virtually all countries have faced the necessity to drastically reduce one of the most important achievements of the modern world, which is the possibility of free movement, in order to prevent a growing wave of infections. Overnight, the current lifestyle and model of social functioning had to change dramatically. More or less restrictive forms of lockdown meant that life was somehow transferred to the internet, the only safe place for interpersonal relations, mobility, and all forms of activity, including the educational one. Lack of choice, an unclear perspective of time and an accompanying sense of great threat have obviously generated various psycho-social disorders on a large scale, but at the same time they have triggered both adaptive mechanisms and processes for creating completely new strategies to deal with uncommon situations. Inevitably, this has led to new solutions in the organization of work and education.
It is the consequences of these processes as well as forecasts for and projected changes in education that will be the subject of scientific reflection within the framework of this event.
We hope that the conference will inspire theoretical solutions and generate proposals for their practical application.
The conference focuses on the problem of the pandemic and its impact on the new shape of education. As these are multi-threaded and include a variety of dimensions, the organizers have designated three major areas, which in our opinion will allow each participant to choose issues closest to their research or professional interests.
The proposed thematic sections are arranged in the following areas:
Educational forecasts, proposed concepts and models of academic education in post-pandemic Europe
Education and business - the policy makers and recipients of educational changes
Education after the pandemic – from students’ and academics’ perspective.
Conference date: 14.04. – 15.04.2021
Languages of the conference: English, German, Polish
Due to the epidemic the conference is planned as an online event.
Participation in the conference is free of charge, thanks to funds obtained from NAWA (Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange) within the framework of the Katamaran project.
All full papers submitted by conference participants, subjected to reviewing process, will be published upon receiving positive reviews in a printed monograph, in the scientific journals “The New Educational Review", “Culture and Education”, or “Organization and Management”.
