Confirmation of learning outcomes
Confirmation of learning outcomes consists in the verification of the candidate's knowledge, skills and social competences obtained in the process of learning outside the study system, in particular through paid work, social activity, scientific activity or personal development.
Learning outcomes can be confirmed to a person having:
secondary school-leaving certificate and at least 5 years
of professional experience - in the case of applying for admission to the first-cycle or long-cycle studies,a full qualification at level 5 of the Polish Qualifications Framework or
a qualification awarded under the foreign higher education system corresponding to level 5 of the European Qualifications Framework referred to in Annex II to the Recommendation of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 April 2008 on establishing the European Qualifications Framework for lifelong learning (Journal of Laws UE C 111 of 06.05.2008, p. 1) - in the case of applying for admission to first-cycle or long-cycle studies;- first-cycle studies diploma and at least 3 years of professional experience after completing these studies - in the case of applying for admission to second-cycle studies;
diploma of completing second-cycle or long-cycle studies and at least
2 years of professional experience after completing these studies - in the case of applying for admission to the next first-cycle or second-cycle studies or long-cycle studies.
Learning outcomes are confirmed to the extent that they correspond to
the learning outcomes specified in the study program for a specific field of study, level and profile, to the extent that allows for the completion of specific classes, including apprenticeships. As a result of confirming the learning outcomes, no more than 50% of the ECTS points assigned to the classes included in the study program can be passed.
Confirmation of the learning outcomes takes place upon the candidate's written application submitted to the Studies Service Centre. The application must be submitted within the deadlines:
by 15th of November - in the case of applying for admission to the
second-cycle studies commencing in the summer semester of a given academic yearby 15th April - in the case of applying for admission to the first-cycle studies, long cycle studies or second-cycle studies commencing in the winter semester of the next academic year.
The confirmation of learning outcomes is chargeable. The candidate concludes an agreement with the Silesian University of Technology on the terms of payment for confirmation of the learning outcomes
Persons who, as a result of undergoing the procedure of confirming
the learning outcomes, obtained at least 15 ECTS points assigned to classes - in the case of applying for admission to first-cycle studies or long-cycle studies - or at least 10 ECTS points assigned to classes - in the case of applying for admission to second-cycle studies or long-cycle studies, - may apply for admission to studies as a result of confirmation of learning outcomes.
