Results of the Christmas Card of the Border Guard competition
The 5th edition of the art competition for children "Christmas Card of the Border Guard" has finished. The prizes were funded by the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology.
Traditionally, in the period before Christmas, the Silesian Border Guard Unit, in cooperation with the Silesian University of Technology, organised an art competition for the most beautiful Christmas card. Primary school children from the Racibórz region participated in the competition.
On the 14th of December, at the headquarters of the Silesian Border Guard Unit, the winners of the competition were awarded. They were chosen among pupils of the Special School and Education Centre for the Deaf and Hearing-impaired in Racibórz and the Jan Wawrzynek Primary School in Kuźnia Raciborska. The first place in the competition was won by 7-year-old Przemysław Domagała and 8-year-old Julia Tatarczyk from the school in Kuźnia Raciborska.
On behalf of the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, Prof. Arkadiusz Mężyk, the diplomas and prizes were awarded by the Vice Rector for Infrastructure and Promotion, Prof. Tomasz Trawiński. The Commander of the Silesian Border Guard Unit Brig. Gen. Adam Jopek also gave diplomas and Christmas gifts to the winners.
On the occasion of the award ceremony, the representatives of the Silesian University of Technology were acquainted with the current migration situation and with the activities of the officers of the Silesian Border Guard Unit in Poland and abroad.
