ICon - offer of intercontinental mobility funding for SUT employees
The call for applications for the InterContinental Academic Exchange Programme (ICon) will remain open until the end of April. Within this programme, employees of the Silesian University of Technology can benefit from the offer of funding for intercontinental staff mobility.
The Silesian University of Technology has been a member of the SGroup consortium for many years. One of the group's activities is a programme to provide funding for intercontinental mobility. InterContinental Academic Exchange Programme (ICon) originates from long-lasting collaboration links between the SGroup network and its members with institutions located in strategic regions and is associated with the Think Tank Academy. Its aim is to promote, facilitate and/or strengthen collaboration between SGroup institutions and their overseas partners through a short mobility scheme for academic and administrative staff members. The grants can be used to help fund a staff mobility period outside Europe.
It is possible to apply for a grant (of €1,000) for a short stay with a partner. The programme offers the following numbers and types of grants:
3 ICon Grants for Latin America;
3 ICon Grants for China;
3 ICon Grants for Africa;
5 ICon Grants for Internal Networking (at associate members):
- 1 for Shanghai International Studies University, China;
- 1 for Yerevan State Medical University, Armenia;
- 1 for the University of Los Andes, Colombia;
- 1 for La Trobe University, Australia;
- 1 for Stellenbosch University, South Africa.
The call is open from October 2022 to 30 April 2023 or until all scholarships have already been granted. Applications will be judged according to eligibility and award criteria on a first-come-first-served basis and until all grants have been assigned.
