Delegation of the Silesian University of Technology in China
At the end of August, a delegation from the Silesian University of Technology visited China. The aim of the visit was to establish new cooperation and tighten existing relations with the Chinese partners of the Silesian University of Technology.
The delegation included: prof. dr hab. Eng. Wojciech Simka (Faculty of Chemistry), dr hab. Eng. Marcin Lemanowicz (Faculty of Chemistry) and dr Eng. Grzegorz Kłapyta (International Relations Office).
The delegation visited Hunan University of Humanities, Science and Technology (HUST) in Hunan Province in order to establish teaching and research cooperation. During the visit, the assumptions and strategy of cooperation were discussed in detail, especially in the teaching field. The possibility of establishing scientific cooperation, exchange of scientific staff and students, as well as launching a joint laboratory were also discussed. There was also a special visit to the "Euro Standard" company, the largest in Hunan province and one of the leading cosmetic companies in China, where cooperation between universities and industry was discussed.
Our employees visited Beijing University of Technology (BJUT) - one of China's elite universities, under the patronage of the Chinese Ministry of Education. During the visit to BJUT, new possibilities of cooperation in the teaching and scientific fields were discussed, as well as the reactivation of the activities of the Sino-Polish University Consortium (SPUC) suspended due to the pandemic. The delegation had an opportunity to visit the impressive university library and the laboratories of the Department of Chemical Engineering.
The delegation of the Silesian University of Technology also visited the headquarters of the Polish-Chinese Educational Investment (PCEI) Co. Ltd. During the meeting, further development of cooperation between the Silesian University of Technology and PCEI, which supports our university in cooperation with Yanshan University, Shenyang Ligong University and Handan University, was discussed.
