Call for applications under the Metropolitan Science Support Fund programme
The call for applications for subsidies from the Metropolitan Fund for Supporting Science, run by the Górnośląsko-Zagłębiowska Metropolis for HEIs operating in the GZM, began on 1 June. Applications can be submitted until 30 June.
Financial support from the Fund is available for tasks carried out by universities in five thematic areas, i.e:
- World-class scientists in the Metropolis,
- - Support for research,
- - Innovative methods of education,
- - Competitions and scientific events,
- - Study in the Metropolis.
Funding for projects to be completed by 31 December 2023 can be applied for in areas 1 (World-class researchers), 3 (Innovative education methods) and 5 (Study in the Metropolis), while for initiatives planned for implementation in 2024 in all the areas mentioned.
Funding of up to 90% of eligible costs may be provided for, among other things activities aimed at encouraging young people to study at universities from the area of the GZM through the creation of an attractive offer of scientific cooperation programmes, patronage education or mentoring programmes, as well as those relating to participation in scientific conferences as speakers presenting research results, publications in journals included in the current list of the Minister of Education of Science, and also the participation of students and scientific associations operating at the university in national and international events of a scientific competition nature or the organisation of such events in the area of the GZM. In subject area 1, related to inviting an outstanding scientist to the University - a winner of prestigious awards, an ERC grant, or a holder of the Highly Cited Researcher status, it is possible to cover up to 99% of eligible costs with a subsidy.
