Department of Inorganic, Analytical Chemistry and Electrochemistry has at its disposal the following equipment:

  • Ion Chromatograph: Dionex ICS-5000+ Reagent-Free HPIC System;
  • Gas Chromatograph: SRI Instruments 310;
  • ICP-OES: Inductively Coupled Plasma-Atomic Emission Spectroscopy: ICP-OES Varian 710-ES + autosampler Varian SPS3;
  • ICP-MS: Inductively Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectroscopy: ICP-MS Varian 810-ES;
  • Metallographic microscope: Olympus BX 51M;
  • Microhardness tester: Mitutoyo HM 112, Vickers;
  • Profile measurement gauge: Mitutoyo Surftest SJ 301;
  • Elementary analyser: Perkin Elmer 2400 Series II CHNS/O System;
  • Derivatograph (thermogravimeter): MOM Q-1500 D Paulik-Paulik-Erdey (and other);
  • Calorimeter: Precyzja KL-10;

  • High-Performance Liquid Chromatograph HSM 7000 (Merck Hitachi) with Diode-Array Detector and Fluorescence Detector, High-Performance Liquid Chromatograph LaChrome Elite (Merck Hitachi) with Diode-Array Detector
  • Ultra High-Performance Liquid Chromatograph LaChrome Ultra (Merck) with UV Detector
  • Liquid Chromatography with Mass Spectrometer (Agilent 1100, API 3000 AB Sciex)
  • Spectrophotometr Hewlett Packard HP 8452 A
  • X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometer WD-XRF PW2400 (Philips)
  • Potentiostat µAUTOLAB Typ III (Eco-Chemie)
  • Absorption atomic spectrometer with flame or electrothermal atomisation (AAS 30 Carl Zeiss)


Laboratories of the Department of Organic Chemistry, Bioorganic Chemistry and Biotechnology are equipped with:

  • Lyophilizing cabinet: Alpha 1-2 LD Plus – used to remove water from frozen samples in a sublimation process. Maximal sublimate mass: 2.5 kg. Performance: 2kg/24h. Limit of frozen flasks: 8;
  • Point diffractometer: Kuma K4 – used for monocrystalline sample analysis. It enables identification of substance forming the crystal. In case of a new, unknown substance, it allows to specify the crystallographic structure of the compound;
  • High efficiency liquid chromatograph: Dionex 3000 Ultimate with UV-VIS detector – allows to register the spectrum of a maximum of 4 chosen wavelengths. The device enables work with two eluents. It is equipped with an autosampler and fraction classifier;
  • Flash Biotage Isolera One Chromatograph, equipped with UV-VIS detector and fraction collector – used to conduct preparative chromatographic separation under higher pressure (flash). The device is also provided with a software facilitating the choice of conditions for separation, using the Rf coefficient on the basis of TLC.
  • UV-VIS Hitachi U-2910 Spectrometer – Diadelphous UV-VIS spectrometer can be used in 3 modes: photometric, spectrometric or to measure absorbance in time. The software allows data processing and analysis;
  • Automatic device for measuring the melting point: Optimelt MPA100 – the apparatus is equipped with a microprocessor controlling the increase of temperature and a digital camera. It allows to mark the melting point of a substance up to 400*C with accuracy of about 0,3-0,8*C, depending on melting point. It is possible to conduct simultaneous measurements of 3 samples;
  • Parra Aparatus: model 3916 – used to carry out hydrogenation reaction in high-pressure and high-temperature conditions;
  • High-efficiency liquid chromatograph JASCO LC-2000 with UV-VIS detectors, both refractometric and fluorescent, which allows to work with two eluents;
  • Gas chromatograph HP5890II with FID detector and capillary (chromatographic) column TR. WAX 25m. The device is equipped with a/d converter. CHRPMAX2010 software is used for data collection.


Department of Chemical Engineering and Process Design has at its disposal:

  • Laser particle size analyser: Analysette 22, from Fritch company, measuring range: 0,16μm-1mm;
  • Laser particle size analyser: Nano-S90, from Malvern company, measuring range: 6nm-6000nm;
  • Zetasizer Nano-2 from Malvern company, measured potential range: –150mV to + 150mV;
  • Scanning electron microscope, zoom up to 30.000 Times;
  • Spectrophotometer: UV-VIS HITACHI U-2800A, measurement of absorbance and transmission in liquids for wave range of 190nm-1000nm;
  • Spectrophotometer: UV-VIS Varian UV-1103M326 with FT-IR adjutage for measurements in solid bodies, absorbance and transmission measurement in 200nm-800nm range;
  • Test pressure filter – to identify filtration parameters of suspensions, resistance and compressibility of sediments. Pressure range up to 2MPa;
  • Apparatus for conductivity measurements of solid bodies: Penzgen;
  • Viscometer: Brookfield DV-II+ Pro;
  • Gas chromatograph: Agilent 6890N with FID TCD detector;
  • Liquid chromatograph: HPLC Agilent 1200 with DAD detector.


Laboratories of the Department of Chemical Organic Technology and Petrochemistry are equipped with:

• Mettler-Toledo RC1e Process Development Workstation with real-time calorimetry (RTCal) and in-situ FT-IR probe;

• GC-MS: Agilent Technologies 7890A/5975C;

• GC: PerkinElmer Clarus 500;

• UPLC-MS: Waters ACQUITY UPLC Xevo G2 QTof;

• HPLC: Waters 2690;

• Pressure reactors (up to 300 bar): Autoclave Engineers Inc.; Parr Instrument Company, Amar Equipments, Mettler Toledo EasyMax; 

• UV-VIS: JASCO V-650;

• Polarimeter: JASCO P-2000.
