Scientist from SUT – one of the best Polish innovators!

Przemysław Data, PhD Eng., from the Faculty of Chemistry, was awarded in the national edition of MIT Technology Review Innovators Under 35 contest.

For this year’s edition, nearly 100 young scientists and entrepreneurs were nominated from all around the country. Among them, the jury chose the authors of 10 most innovative projects. Przemysław Data from the Department of Physical Chemistry and Technology of Polymers was one of the chosen 10. He investigates new energy-saving light sources, based on solutions using thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF), including eksciplekses.

Considering the fact that light accompanies us in every aspect of our lives, such the use of such emitters can lead to a decrease of carbon dioxide emission. Additionally, according to the research of Przemysław Data, those emitters can also result in the elimination of expensive and rare iridium elements in the production of highly efficient organic electroluminescence OLED diodes, as well as increasing significantly their efficiency.

Up until now, together with our partners, we managed to create several efficient TADF emitters and produce highly efficient OLED devices.
