PolSl Racing won another prize!

Student Scientific Association PolSl Racing received the internet users' award in the KoKoN Scientific Association Competition for the following project: "Construction of an electric motorcycle PolSl eRacing "Elektra". The award was presented during the KoKoN 2018 solemn final gala, which took place on Saturday, 27 October, in Warsaw, as part of the Technical Universities Forum. Congratulations!

There were 46 student projects submitted to the competition for the internet users’ prize. A total of over 3.5 thousand of votes were given. The project of an electric motorcycle, conducted by members of the team from the Silesian University of Technology PolSl eRacing turned out to be the unquestionable leader.

- It is a great pleasure and honour for me to have the opportunity to collect this prize-said the chairman of PolSl eRacing team. The project for the construction of the "Elektra" motorcycle began in April early this year. Within a few months we were able to build a fully functional vehicle that was ready to compete with the projects of much more experienced teams from other technical universities. The culmination of our success was the victory at the SmartMoto Challenge Wrocław in the general classification of engines with a capacity of up to 8 kW. It was some sort of confirmation for us that we were on the right path. Today's award is another proof for me and I hope that it will constitute a kind of stimulus to develop further projects focused on electromobility - said Bartłomiej Urbański, leader of the PolSl Racing team, when receiving the prize.

The nationwide KoKoN competition is addressed to students of technical universities operating in scientific associations. It is to encourage students to take part in scientific and social activities and to help integrate the student community and build dialogue between technical universities in Poland and external companies. The prizes were awarded in six categories: engineering project; conference; scientific research; innovation and new technologies; IT and Internet users' award.

This nationwide KoKoN competition was organized by the Technical University Forum, which consists of student governments at Polish technical universities.
