Over 600 rectors and academic teachers from all over the world, politicians, entrepreneurs and representatives of international institutions will take part in the 4th International Meeting of Rectors "Universia", which will be held on May 21-22 in Salamanca. The meeting will also be attended by the Vice-Rector for Science and Development of the Silesian University of Technology, prof. Marek Pawełczyk.
For two days, the Spanish city of Salamanca will become the world capital of higher education as the organizer of the 4th International Meeting of Rectors "Universia". As part of the event, over 600 rectors and representatives of the academic community from 26 countries will take part in panel discussions focused on three main topics: "Teaching and learning in the digital world", "Scientific research: paradigm under supervision?" and "Contribution of university to social development". In these days, the University of Salamanca will also celebrate the 800th anniversary of its existence under the slogan "University, Society and Future."
- The meeting of representatives of so many outstanding universities from different regions of the world, with different traditions and experience, gives the unique opportunity to conduct a very broad discussion on important topics regarding the organization of university operation, modern didactic methods based on research and the role that universities play in society - emphasized prof. Marek Pawełczyk, Vice-Rector for Science and Development at the Silesian University of Technology.

Discussions held during the 4th International Meeting of Rectors "Universia" can be followed on social media or on the official website dedicated to the event. As part of the summary of the event, the "Letter from Salamanca" will be published with the main conclusions and proposals for action in the pursuit of creating a university of the future and the implementation of university missions, i.e. supporting progress and social development.
