New scientific partnership

Silesian University of Technology has established a bilateral cooperation agreement with Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iasi (TUIASI) in Romania. The agreement was signed by Professor Dan Caşcavala, Rector of TUIASI, and Professor Arkadiusz Mężyk, Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, who visited Iasi on November 6th and 7th.

The agreement institutes a development of intercollegiate programmes for scientists’, teachers’ and students’ mobility, as well as taking care over students during their industrial training. Technical University in Iasi is one of the biggest and most dynamically developing universities in Romania.

“Over 200 years of history of technical education in Iasi constituted a background for discussions about future plans. We came to a conclusion, that some of those plans can be implemented jointly, which was the reason to sign the agreement” – said Professor Arkadiusz Mężyk, Rector of the Silesian University of Technology.

The person responsible for coordination of the agreement is Professor Dumitru Nedelcu from the Faculty of Machine Building and Industry Management of TUIASI, who also visited the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Silesian University of Technology.
