Students of the Silesian University of Technology the best at the European BEST Engineering Competition (EBEC)

Aleksander Spyra, Bartosz Kowalski, Przemysław Giza and Paweł Sanocki, students of the Silesian University of Technology, won in the Team Design category in the final of the European BEST Engineering Competition (EBEC), which took place on July 31 in Turin.

The Team Design category, in which our students have won, is based on the design and construction of a device, that solves a specific engineering problem (e.g. a mechanism that uses a constant stream of air to raise the maximum weight). This category is intended to check how students cope with limited material resources and time.

Students of our university won earlier the local finals in Gliwice, then the national finals, which also took place in Gliwice.

The European BEST Engineering Competition (EBEC) is an international event taking place in 6 cities in Poland and in over 30 countries throughout Europe, organized by the Student Association “Board of European Students of Technology”. The competition is addressed to students of technical universities. It consists of two categories: Case Study and Team Design.
