Silesian University of Technology with a mobile laboratory for air pollution measurements
Owing to the commitment of Professor Janusz Kotowicz, Vice Rector for Collaboration with Civic and Economic Environment; Elwira Zajusz-Zubek PhD, DSc, Head of the Department of Air Protection at the Faculty of Energy and Environmental Engineering; Professor Józef Pastuszka and Zygmunt Łukaszczyk PhD Eng., director of CKI in Rybnik; Silesian University of Technology, has obtained funds for the purchase of a mobile laboratory for measuring the emission of air pollution.
Half of the purchase, in the amount of PLN 398 thousand, was financed by the Regional Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Katowice and the other half by the Silesian University of Technology.
Our university has gained a mobile laboratory for didactic and scientific purposes as well as a possibility to use the obtained measurements by local government units. The results will apply to forecasting of low emission and effective fight against smog.
