Centre for Innovation and Technology Transfer awarded with the Gold Emblem Prize of Quality International 2018

The Centre for Innovation and Technology Transfer of the Silesian University of Technology (CITT) was awarded with the Gold Emblem Prize of Quality International (QI) 2018 gaining the winner title for the Highest Quality programme in the QI Services category, which is: top quality services for the Service Orders Office. CITT was highly rated by the Programme Jury especially for their activities related to implementation and promotion of the quality idea in all aspects of their activities. The award was handed in during the European Quality and Innovation Forum, which took place on Friday, 26 October at the Hotel Monopol in Katowice. During the ceremony, the prize was jointly received by the Vice Rector for General Affairs, Professor Bogusław Łazarz and CITT deputy director- Magdalena Letun-Łątka PhD Eng. The Programme Jury, in the justification for CITT award emphasized that “CITT plays a key role in managing intellectual property of the Silesian University of Technology, in commercializing research results, as well as in establishing and maintaining contacts with business environment. This is also done through awarding the Service Orders Office with the QI Medal. Both, the title Top Quality by Quality International and a certificate signed by patron institutions prove that the Silesian University of Technology apply the highest standards. They build competitive advantage on Polish and international markets. This QI emblem is a measurable help in building a positive image of the company.” The European Quality and Innovation Forum is an event addressed to scientific, business and local government communities. Its aim is to exchange information, experience and to integrate environments, as well as to develop strategic solutions and establish mutual cooperation among forum participants. During this year's edition the following subjects were discussed: Industry 4.0, economic patriotism, sustainable development and business in sport. Discussion panels were also attended by representatives of the Silesian University of Technology: Vice Rector for Science and Development Professor Marek Pawełczyk and Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering Professor Anna Timofiejczuk.
